At the Bus Shelter, we provide shelter, food, and support for our residents, who are rough sleepers looking to make the right progress towards a life of independence away from the streets.
In Milton Keynes, five people have died on the streets in the last 2 years, and an estimated 150 people are sleeping rough. Without adequate hostel solutions available, there are limited options for a homeless person, a third of whom are under the age of 25.
Using our converted double decker bus, we provide 24/7 shelter and support to guests that we have assessed and can assure are prepared and committed to turn their lives around. Once accepted, we agree a period of time that they can stay with us, and we support them in their search for accommodation, work, and medical care.
