Meet The Board

Pam Williams - Chair

Now retired, Pam’s successful career in media production followed challenges in her early twenties when she was almost made homeless. She joined a group of people deeply concerned about the growing level of street homelessness in Milton Keynes in 2016/17 and was persuaded to take on the role of Chair. Pam was a founding board member of MK Homelessness Partnership until she stood down in 2023. 

 
Dave Pickering - Vice-Chair

 A founding Trustee who has been involved in various homeless initiatives in Milton Keynes, Dave is an award-winning, strategic marketer with over 20 years’ experienceHe relishes the opportunity to solve challenging business problems with innovative ideas and technology solutions to achieve demonstrable results. Dave joined The Bus Shelter MK wanting to deliver long term meaningful changes for those experiencing street homelessness in Milton Keynes. 

 
Yoofi Clarke - Treasurer

Yoofi is a qualified accountant and management consultant with over 20 years’ experienceHe is a skilled communicator with a proven ability to drive business strategy and performance, establish or improve the finance function and project manage changeHe acts as an independent examiner for several charities and has been the Treasurer of The Bus Shelter MK since March 2021.   

 
Mike Thompson - Secretary

A qualified CIMA accountant and experienced senior manager for a global travel companyMike has a proven history of successfully leading people, teams and key departments with a commitment to mentoring, motivation and career development.   Mike takes the lead in driving board discussions and research in developing strategy. 

 
Pete Smith

Peter is the Technical Manager for a leading web hosting providerHe worked tirelessly to deliver utilities to our initial site of Colgrain Street, and our more recent major renovation project, George HouseIn addition Peter manages the technical direction and infrastructure for The Bus Shelter MK. 

 
Ellis Rust

Ellis is a Health Coach and also the co-founder of a kitchen installation business, who is an ultra-marathon runner in his spare timeEllis was asked to join the board in December 2018 after impressing as a support volunteer during the early days of the charityEllis takes the lead on Governance, including documentation and reporting. 

 
Cameron Wood

Cameron has worked in the charity sector for over 25 years, with particular experience in income generation and knowledge of developing sustainable income to meet organisation growth. He has a strong understanding of the key factors that make a successful charity. 

 
Helen Armstrong-Christie

Helen has considerable operational experience in large and small housing associations and recently joined a local housing authority in a senior housing roleSpecialisms include provision of housing for vulnerable adults, safeguarding, responding to domestic abuse and management of tenancy enforcement function. Housing legal specialist covering all aspects of housing law and tenancy litigation.
